Biomass Co-Firing System - Didcot Power Station


Didcot Power Station

Saxlund International UK won the contract to supply a biomass handling system for the new biomass co-combustion system at Didcot Power Station in Oxfordshire. The scheme incorporated a Saxlund Push Floor system and a large chain conveyor designed to handle a wide variety of biomass fuel materials between a wide range of feed rates.


Biomass Co-Firing System - Aberthaw Power Station


Biomass Push Floor

Saxlund was awarded the contract to automate the biomass co-firing pilot plant at Aberthaw Power Station. The system makes use of an existing building and consists of a Push Floor flat floor bunker area which is loaded from delivery trucks and maintained full by a wheeled loader machine.

Biomass Wood Chip Push Floor

Saxlund have supplied one stockpile Push Floor discharge machine with a capacity of 200m³. The stockpile is maintained at an average height of 4m using the mobile plant and the static stockpiles of material within the storage building.

Fiddler Ferry Co Combustion

The two stockpile Push Floor discharge machines each hold 1000m³ of material. The material is pushed towards the discharge opening by the reciprocating action of the Push Floor and falls into the lower section of the Saxlund Scraper Chain Conveyor
