Solutions for handling wet and dry bulk materials including wood chip and biomass - LignaWorld Fair - Hannover 22-26 May - Hall 26 Stand H11.

Biomass and bulk material handling specialist Saxlund International will be explaining some of the latest engineering solutions for the storage and transfer of challenging wet and dry bulk materials including wood chips, fibres and alternative fuels at this year’s Ligna world fair for forestry and wood technology in Hannover, Germany.

The company will also be highlighting recent engineering contracts for a plant in the particle board industry, including sites in Vietnam, as well as the growing market for bioenergy solutions where the company is actively engaged in over 13 wood chip biomass fuel handling and storage solutions for bioenergy and gasification plants across Europe.

These include wood chip fuel feed and storage solutions for Bouygues Energies & Services, at the UK’s largest waste-to-energy gasification plant currently underway at Hoddesdon in Hertfordshire, three biomass fuel handling and storage solutions for Babcock & Wilcox Vølund at power stations located in Sheffield, Teesside and Margam in South Wales and a further three projects for Galliford Try Infrastructure for waste wood gasification facilities under construction in Barry, Boston and Hull.

The company will be explaining its design approach for minimising storage and transfer issues for what can be sticky and challenging materials, and how to ensure long-term plant durability, uninterrupted operation and minimal operator intervention to clear blockages and material flow.

A key focus will be on activated silo discharge solutions and conveying equipment for a range of materials including wood chips, fibres and sawdust, bark, biomass and alternative fuels. ‘First in, first out’ design principles to minimise compaction and material conglomeration will also be explained.
