Since the combustion chamber is the heart of any energy system, we have applied many years of experience along with sophisticated research to develop the most efficient and environmentally friendly combustion system available.

Since a combustion system is only as good as the feeding and other auxiliary systems, Saxlund International is able to supply high quality bulk material handling systems that have a proven track record the world over.

With today’s stringent environmental emission controls, perfect control of fuel feed and the combustion systems are essential. With the co-operation with the KTH (The Swedish Royal Institute of Technology) we now have a new combustion geometry with our 'Turbo Mixer'. The technology behind this new geometry is based on the fundamental requirement to achieve complete burn out by the correct induction of combustion air. When necessary, fuel gas re-circulation can also be installed.

Patented Fuel Feed System

Saxlund International has designed a new type of fuel feeding machine for the grate. The design is based on the fundamental requirement for the fuel to cover evenly and with an equal depth across the complete width of the moving grate system. This minimizes 'burn through' and the possibility of an uncontrolled air supply through the grate.

The Reciprocating Grate

The many years of knowledge that Saxlund International has, has helped to develop a new design that has resulted in the best system available.


  • Patented grate bars may be rotated to double their service life
  • Grate side cooling prevents slag formation
  • Stable combustion can be achieved even at very low outputs
  • It can be retrofitted easily into existing boilers of furnaces
  • All actuators are placed at the front of the grate, meaning no maximum width limitation
  • When combined with the patented fuel feed system, the whole grate is only used for combustion, not feeding fuel, meaning the heat release is maximized

Unique Control System

We have developed a unique control system that controls fuel feed, grate reciprocation speed and airflow, to achieve optimum performance of the system with varying loads. This system works very well with multiple users, such as with a thermal oil heating system and direct fired fryer in combination.
