The Hydraulic Rotor is a discharge machine designed to suit flat bottomed circular silos and is a direct descendant of the original Saxlund patented Spring Rotor discharge machine that we invented in 1955. The machine has been used extensively by the wood board industry for many years and is mainly used today for biomass applications.
The rotating machine promotes material flow from the silo and into the metering screw(s) and its fall chute below the silo floor. When a bridge in the fall chute is detected, the Rotor begins to turn thereby disturbing the stored material. After a 30 sec delay, the Rotor Arms begin to drive out into the material and all bridges collapse. The Arms then return to their rest position.
Advantages
- Minimum absorbed power while creating 'mass flow' conditions in silo
- Arms swing out by hydraulic action to break any material bridges
- Arms return to rest position on rotor when not required
- Hydraulic working pressure adjustable to suit material characteristics.
- Minimum wear gives long service life.
- Epicyclic gearbox beneath silo floor gives ease of access.
- More than one discharge point possible and with different flow rates.
- Suitable for silos from 4m to 8m diameter.
